Please describe your Dorset business in around 100 words or less
Quay View Apartment is an attractive centrally located, grade 2 listed property situated in the heart of Weymouth’s historic Harbour. The four-bedroom duplex apartment is arranged over two floors and benefits from harbour views from three of the four bedrooms, and the living room.
This self-contained apartment provides an ideal base for exploring Weymouth Harbour, the beach and many of the harbourside pubs and restaurants. The apartment is also dog friendly!
Permit for parking is provided for stays 4 nights and over. Otherwise, parking can be found in nearby metered car parks
By the Quay will be a coffee shop selling coffee roasted in Dorset as well as locally sourced artisan bakes and bread in a welcoming environment for all. Opening in March 2024.
When did your business begin?
We bought the apartment and shop below in October 2023 and have had a wonderful time making Quay View into a cozy family holiday home for short and long breaks.
We are currently redecorating the closed Mexican restaurant turning it into an independent barista coffee shop. We have worked hard on keeping everything local and community focused.
Where do you see your business in 5 years?
We hope to see more and more familiar guests rebooking a stay at Quay View and building those special memories many of us have of holidays in Weymouth when we were young and bringing friends, family and dogs along too.
Our dream for the coffee shop is to see friendly faces from our local community finding By the Quay to be their go to place for fabulous coffee and a chance to chat and connect or simply take a breath with a view to calm the soul.
Where is your favourite place in Dorset?
Now that’s a tricky question! Dorset has such a range of stunning places to visit. We love the Jurassic coast honestly and adore the Abbotsbury Viewpoint-it takes our breath away every time we drive there.
Where was the last place you visited in Dorset?
The harbour for fish and chips!
