Our Review Of The Connaught Hotel And Spa In Bournemouth

Our stay at the Connaught Hotel and Spa in Bournemouth was just a few days before Christmas time so the hotel was decorated very festively.

We received a warm welcome from reception upon arrival, and after being given all the information about the spa and how to find out room off we went.

Connaught hotel and spa standard double room

The hotel is well laid out with the stairs and lifts to the room tucked away behind the reception area. The hotel’s restaurant and bar area is also located from the main reception area.

We had booked a standard double room in the main hotel. Our room was spacious and clean with everything we needed. The extra touches of bottles water and glasses were a really nice idea and very welcome.

Knowing it was the Christmas season and there was a Christmas party in the hotel that evening, we decided to use the pool and spa facilities before going out for dinner.

The pool and spa were easy to find, and again well laid out. The swimming pool is one of the largest hotel swimming pools I have seen for a long time. As we arrived at the pool area, we had it to ourselves for a little while which was lovely. It soon filled up with guests and leisure club members though.

After a couple of hours relaxing in the jacuzzi area and swimming in the pool, we decided to get ready for our evening meal.

The shower in our room was a decent size and whilst it wasn’t hugely powerful, there was plenty of hot water with an easy to use temperature control.

Despite their being a party in the hotel during our stay, we didn’t hear any noise at all. There wasn’t even any noise from the corridor during the night which was a bonus.

The bed was comfortable and a decent night sleep was enjoyed by us both. On this occasion we decided not to stay in the hotel for breakfast. However the option was available to us to be able to add a breakfast booking on as extra.
