If you like tapas and cheese, then you’ll enjoy the menu at Ten Bottles in Wimborne. There is both cold and hot tapas choices as well as grazing plates.
Cold tapas options include toasted ciabatta with marinated cherries and red cherry peppers stuffed with cream cheese. Hot tapas options include cider glazed chorizo with Calvados or perhaps baby back pork rib with spicy Spanish glaze. You could also opt for paprika potatoes topped with aioli or Spanish mushrooms in cream, garlic and white wine.
Graze plates include a selection of cheeses, cured hams with fresh fruit, chutney, pickles and bread.
There’s also a good selection of wines, cocktails and spritzers available if you decide to visit for just a drink, or perhaps a drink and a snack.
Facilities At Ten Bottles Wimborne
The bar and restaurant area in Ten Bottles has a cosy feel to it, and despite it being a narrow restaurant, there’s no worry of feeling squashed at all. The tables are very well set apart from each other, with some being high booths, as well as lower tables.
Our Experience
A group of four of us visited on a Wednesday evening, and were pleased to find the bar not too busy, but there were also customers enjoying their meal and drinks. One of the party was gluten free, and after being seated, we were informed that the majority of the tapas dishes were in fact gluten free.
Unfortunately there was no gluten free bread available during our visit, so one diner had to forego the bread choices. There were also no alternative options for anything as a substitute for dipping such as crisps. We were advised to inform the restaurant in advance next time and they would make sure options were available.
After choosing a grazing plate, we also opted for a selection of tapas dishes. As we didn’t really know how many we would need, we ordered a selection and were advised we could always order some more later on. The waiting staff were very helpful and very attentive which was nice to see.
The hot tapas dishes we selected were all delivered to the table in stoneware dishes. This meant they stayed warm for ages as we literally grazed on our meal. Our choices included baby back ribs with spicy Spanish glaze, paprika potatoes topped with aioli, Spanish mushrooms in cream, garlic and white wine and garlic prawns. Along side the Casa Plate meant we had plenty to eat!
The food was delicious and it was nice to try different cheeses. The whipped feta dip with honey was a hit with everyone at the table. Our whole meal experience lasted a couple of hours with some nice wine to accompany our food.
Ten Bottles in Wimborne is definitely somewhere we would return to, and perhaps try some of the different tapas selections on the menu too.
