Better Craft And Paint is open 5 days each week with late-night opening every other Thursday. They can seat around 70 people when no restrictions are in place.

Most designs take around 2-3 hours to paint, so leave plenty of time for your visit. Finished pieces will be glazed and fired in the kiln before being ready for collection a few days later.

Create At Upton Country Park

Open Wednesday – Sunday 10am – 5pm, you can choose from a variety of crafts including painting your own pottery. 

They have a wide variety of pre-fired pottery (bisque) to choose from. Just select a design, grab the paint colours using the colour guides and then paint away!!!!  You can paint patterns, true colours or images. 

The items range from ornaments to models of animals, as well as household implements. If freehand drawing is not your strong point, there are stencils and even tracing paper to get the image you want. 

The pottery takes around a week to be fired before you can take it home, however you can choose to paint with acrylic which can be taken away the same day as it doesn’t need firing.

The perfect excuse to re visit the country park for a walk and look around.
