  • Some of the scenes from the 1971 Bedknobs and Broomsticks featured Corfe Castle.

Dorchester On Screen

  • Evershot in Dorchester was home to the filming of the 1996 adaptation of Jane Austen’s Emma.

Durdle Door & Lulworth Cove On Screen

The iconic Dorset landmark that is Durdle Door has featured in many movies over the years.

  • Nanny McPhee (2005) includes a beach scene at Durdle Door. You can see the famous arch and also the coastal cliffs in the background.
  • Brad Pitt added to Lulworth Cove’s fame with the 2013 World War Z movie.

  • Ammonite is a movie based on Mary Anning. Starring Kate Winslet, Lyme Regis was of course home for filming.

  • Abbotsbury Swannery was used as a filming location in Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. The Weasley family home, the Burrow was in the swampy area around the swannery.
  • Fleet Lagoon and Chesil Beach were featured in the 1968 movie Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.
  • Chesil Beach was home to the famous movie On Chesil Beach in 2017.
