The Dorset Sunflower Trail
Maiden Castle Farm, Dorchester, Dorset, DT2 9PR
To celebrate the beautiful Dorset summer, Maiden Castle Farm, nestled at the foot of historic Maiden Castle in the county town of Dorchester, will be hosting their Sunflower Trail this summer.
Families and lovers of nature are invited to visit the farm to see majestic sunflowers in full bloom and support the charities at the same time.
The 20-acre trail will be planted in time for the summer holidays, estimated to open the first weekend of August.
Picking Patch

Just on the Hampshire / Dorset border is the Picking Patch. Every year you can enjoy the sunflower picking patch.
On selected dates in August the site is open for pre-booked visitors to enjoy the maize maze and PYO sunflowers. There are 9 varieties of sunflowers to pick, take home and once you have enjoyed looking at them you could turn them into a bird feeder or use the seeds to make tasty treats!
Parking is free, with toilets and refreshments available as well.
Sunflower Saunter At West Bay
Coppet Hill, Purcombe Farm, Bridport, DT6 6RL
Daily through August, there is a mile of pathways through a West Dorset sunflower field. Refreshments are also available in the form of tea, coffee, cakes and ice cream.
Purcombe Farm is also home to a 10-acre sunflower maze, possibly the only sunflower maze in Dorset. This will be open during the summer holidays. Stroll through a labyrinth of half a million golden flowers before enjoying a picnic by the wildlife pond. Dogs are welcome on a lead.
Farmer Palmers Farm Park Sunflower Meadow
The sunflower meadow opens late July at farmer Palmers Farm park in Dorset. You can explore the field as part of your visit to the farm park.
