Mighty Claws Adventure Golf Review

Sharing is caring!

Mighty Claws adventure golf is one of the many places to enjoy adventure golf in Dorset. One of the open air adventure golf courses with a restaurant on site, it’s a great course to try whatever the time.

The Bournemouth site has been open since Summer 2017, it’s 18 hole course is located at Playgolf Bournemouth on Riverside Avenue, just behind the large Tesco.

There is ample free parking, which you can’t miss when you drive in. You’ll spot the dinosaurs a mile off! The car park can get quite busy during peak times, but as the site is open until 9.30pm, it’s a nice idea to go in the evening when it’s a bit quieter. The course has flood lights to enhance your crazy golf enjoyment even at night!

The Course

You can expect to spend around an hour to an hour and a half on the 18 hole course, depending on how busy it is. On a busy day I would expect the course to take around an hour to complete with people ahead and behind you. Try not to lose those golf balls in the water!

Each hole is different, some easier than others. We did have a chuckle at the balls dropping into the water on some parts of the course. It’s a good job there are nets dotted around to help you retrieve your balls.

It’s easy to become competitive when playing adventure golf, even in a fun way. Even if you don’t manage a hole in one, aim for a score of two or three which is good.

I thought the flow of the Mighty Claws adventure golf course worked really well, and the theming was great. Life size dinosaurs that were very active, saying hello to us as we passed them. They don’t bite, but perhaps don’t get too close!

Onsite Facilities At Mighty Claws Adventure Golf

When you’ve finished your date with the dinosaurs on the golf course, the Kitchen Club restaurant is right next door with plenty to tempt your taste buds and appetites.

The restaurant serves a good selection of food and drink including their thick and creamy ice cream milkshakes and pizza buffet.

The milkshakes contain a mix of vanilla ice cream, cream cheese, whipped cream and crushed topping. It was amazing, and I was sad when it was all gone.

The Kitchen Club has a feature pizza oven at the front of their kitchen and we watched our choices of pizza go into the oven before arriving at our table a short while later. There are some great topping choices on the menu from Hawaiian, Vegetarian, to Bolognese and Meat Feasts.

The pizzas are presented on a lovely circular wooden board with a pizza cutter to the side which is a great touch.

Find Your Fortune Gem Mining

As well as crazy golf, you can also enjoy find your fortune gem mining. You can collect your gemstone pack from reception and take it outside to see which gems you can find. Each pack is guaranteed to contain gemstones.

We had a nice selection in our pack, but the anticipation of cleaning your gems and identifying them from the chart is definitely the most fun. Each pack of gemstones costs £3.50 or £3 with your Mighty Claws ticket.
